2023 DPS Pagoda 112 RP Skis
When thinking of wide powder skis, we donāt often think of them as being particularly stable or supportive. After all, a softer flexing ski is often more conducive to float in deeper snow, so the tradeoff of stability for added float is usually accepted. The Pagoda 112 RP featureās DPSās signature Pagoda construction and RP shaping for a balance of stability, vibration damping, and overall float and maneuverability. At its core, the Pagoda 112 RP features a horizontally laminated blend of Paulownia, Asen and Ash which work as one unit to provide stability and energy. Two full sheets of carbon sandwich the wood core which add a great deal of power, stiffness, and vibration damping making for a more stable ski altogether. Letās face it, even in the biggest of storms, not every lift-accessed run we take consists of smooth, untracked, blower powder, so that added stability is key for navigating your way to those deep afternoon leftovers. With that said, when it comes to powder performance, itās hard to imagine something that would float, surf, and maneuver with more ease than the Pagoda 112 RP. A very pronounced rocker profile in combination with a pretty flat and minimal amount of camber underfoot allow the ski to plane effortlessly through deep snow. The taper in the tip makes these things feel like butter knives that cut through any soft snow, chop and crud, while the pater in the tail allows for even better float and maneuverability. DPSās RP shaping features a shorter radius sidecut of 15 meters which is pretty much unheard of for skis of this width. This sidecut makes the ski feel very quick and lively but also helps with edge hold on firmer snow. skiers looking for the ever illusive āpowder slalom skiā may have just reached the end of their search, thanks to the DPS Pagoda 112 RP.
