2023 DPS Koala 103 Foundation Skis

Freestyle-oriented skis haven’t always been associated with the term “high-performance” as they can often lack the precision and carving capabilities of directional skis. DPS holds the art of a nice ski turn at the core of its design philosophies which is what separates the Koala Foundation 103 from a lot of other comparable skis in the same category. This ski is freestyle-forward but aims to make the entire mountain your playground and to provide you the ability to throw tricks, spins and big airs outside of the confines of the terrain park. Under the hood, the Koala Foundation 103 features an Aspen wood core which is sandwiched between 2 full layers or Triaxial Fiberglass and two unidirectional strips of Carbon. From this construction, the result is a lightweight, responsive and energetic ski that remains damp to vibration at higher speeds and in choppy conditions. In other words- the perfect mix for an all-mountain freestyle ski. A 60/40 blend of camber and rocker really add a lot to the ski in terms of its versatile performance. The cambered portion of the ski provides solid edge gold on firm snow as well as pop for boosting off natural features around the resort or for jumps and rails in the park, while the rocker allows for easy turn initiation, effortless butters, intuitive edge release, as well as float in deeper snow. Thanks to an 18-meter turning radius, the Koala 103 provides the skier the opportunity to really play around with their desired turn shapes as it will remain stable on longer arcs. This ski is intended to be the “goldilocks” ski for freestyle riders looking to ski everything, or for skiers who want a playful all mountain ski.
