The Armada Reliance 102 Ti takes a Big Mountain personality and packages it into an all-mountain ski. At 102 millimeters wide in the waist, this versatile resort charger is designed to handle any terrain with avidity. The Reliance 102 Ti features a Caruba wood core Keeping the ski light and maneuverable, while two titanal laminates above and below the core give the ski its stable and powerful properties. The titanal laminate below the core is a full sheet that runs tip to tail, but the laminate on top of the core features Armada’s Articulated Titanal Banding where they have essentially cut channels into the layer of titanal up in the tip of the ski and filled them with an elastic compound. This construction does a number of things. It allows for a bit more torsional flex in the tip of the ski, making turn initiation very seamless and effortless, but it also stores a ton of energy through the turn which then releases as you exit your turn, giving the ski a lively and energetic feel that isn’t always found in a ski with two metal laminates. A full sidewall construction, camber under foot, and a fairly extended sidecut give the Reliance 102 Ti tremendous edge grip on groomers and firm snow while the more forgiving flex in the tip and Armada’s EST Freeride Rocker profile allow the ski to handle softer snow and variable terrain with ease.
